DIRTY SKA & PUNK NIGHT
MUSIC: SKa / Punk
Three excellent up and coming punk rock bands from across London have been brought together for a foundation shaking night at Dirty
South! All of the bands who will be live on the Dirty South stage are currently tearing down the house of every venue they grace at
present, and this Friday night of debauchery will be no different. Come down, get involved and get messy!
BANDS:
NUKE ON ROUTE
South London's own anarcho upstarts return to Dirty South to give Lewisham a kick up the arse with their political punk songs and
turn the place upside down with their chaotic stage show.
THE STERILIZERS
Hailing from all corners of the city, this 6 piece infuse 2tone era ska with fast and melodic punk rock in the vein of Rancid/The
Clash/The Specials. They are building up a great following and are certainly going places so get in and see them while you can.
THE DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
Newcomers to Lewisham, this lot are a young political punk/ska band from Camberley (West of London) playing their first London show
in a very long time.

Absent Kelly Presents
KLAXONS (DJ SET)
MUSIC: Indie / Nu Rave / Alternative
Absent Kelly visits Dirty South tonight with the original punk funk nu Ravers Klaxons, who burst onto the scene back in 2007
with chart success from Magick, Golden Skans and of course the release of their critically acclaimed and Mercury Album of the year,
'Myths of the Near Future'.
The guys, who originally formed in New Cross and are no strangers to Dirty South, have taken a couple years out from the spotlight,
after chart success, selling out shows worldwide and playing all the major festivals!
Focusing their efforts on creating what is said to be their second master piece. Their second album which will be released mid
August, 'Surfing the Void', which NME's Mark Beaumont reports, 'sounds like a brilliant shag- inspired by the bands dabbling with
psychotropic drugs- full of cockiness and a crunching punch in the throat comeback!'.
Before the release of their album Klaxons are taking to the road, hitting the festivals and doing a handful of low key and secret
gigs, including DJ'in for us at Dirty South before hitting the road again on their full on promotional tour.
On top of this we have searched far and wide across the UK bringing an eclectic mix of indie, nu rave, alternative live acts in
support. Tonight's a chance to maybe hear next year's mercury prize winners and of course get a preview of the Klaxons new
material... Hear them here first!

Dirty South Present:
ALABAMA 3 LIVE & UNPLUGGED
MUSIC: Sweetmuthafuckinacidhousecountrymusic all night long!
For the last four years Alabama 3 have been hosting a regular (and very irregular) party weekend, running over two nights in
Lewisham and Brixton. 'Outlaw' is not just another club night. It is an event, a happening - never to be repeated and not to be
missed.
With Dirty South providing the space for the band to take over, they have brought in some incredible bands currently on the
scene, that will be on hand to offer some amazing live support and play alongside Alabama 3 who will be live and unplugged.
This is Alabama 3's party night: just add people!
A programme is created with a host of new and exciting young bands performing music that reflects the varied genres that Alabama 3
have embraced in their own work - expect live acts performing country, blues, funk, punk and dirty old rock n roll, all cut with an
alternative edge, and seamlessly brought together by our regular DJ's playing grooves that keep the audience on the floor between
acts. Expect cabaret and performance artists. Expect the unexpected...
DJ'S:
Following the live performance the tempo is kept to the max, all night long. As well as a variety of guest DJ's, Alabama 3's own
Rev D Wayne Love takes to the decks at each 'Outlaw, as does their ever popular tour DJ Tattoo John, who has been playing with
the band since their inception, Larry Love and other members of the band often join them, playing tunes, or rapping with the DJ's.
The dance floor stays packed and lively until the early morning hours.

THE SUBWAYS (DJ Set)
MUSIC:
The Subways hit Dirty South for a night behind the decks as they aim to provide their fans and music lovers alike, a night of the
best hand picked gems that will set the Dirty South dance floor alight. In addition, there will be an array of brilliant live
support from some of the best bands to grace the venues stage.
The Subways have gathered incredible support over the 5 years they have been smashing their musical wears, to the joys of their
peers and public alike. With fans in the shape of Oasis and Foo Fighters who subsequently invited them to play guest slots on their
respective tours, supporting AC/DC at Wembley stadium, four consecutive years at Reading, appearances at Glastonbury, Leeds and T
in the Park, not to mention a tour that included Japan America, France and Australia, you would think life would not get much
better.
Two excellent albums have been produced since 2005 and with the approaching list of gigs that will take them back around Europe
over the months ahead, this opportunity to witness them in a different guise at Dirty South is a precious one.
There is no doubting their musical pedigree and this will become all apparent on this summer night in south London!

Absent Kelly Present:
THE VORTEX FEAT-BONEHEAD (ex-oasis)
MUSIC: Indie
Tonight Absent Kelly gives you the chance to check out the first touring band to emerge post the Oasis split. As Noel and Liam
squabble, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs leads the way with his new band The Vortex! Bonehead was guitarist in the original Oasis line
and is set to bring a fresh, big Manchester sound to our southern stage on the first London date of their European tour.
Their music, reminiscent of early Oasis begs the question, 'how much did Bonehead contribute to the sounds of Defiantly Maybe
and Morning Glory which defined a decade?' This was the much loved sound that indeed seemed to dry up on his departure from the
band. Interesting, to say the least.
In addition we also have a host of support acts including local favourites, The Dirty Reds! A not to be missed afternoon,
evening and night of Indie Rock n' Roll!!!
